The laboratory fossil energy and its formation environment research team Wang Pujun, Gao Youfeng, etc., based on the Songliao Basin International Continental Scientific Drilling Project and deep volcanic rock exploration results, comprehensively analyzed the Songliao Basin’s structural environment, underlying crust, structural style, stratigraphic filling sequence, and subsidence History and volcanism, it was discovered that the Songliao Basin had an initial oceanic crust, the active continental margin evolution cycle of the Songliao Basin was proposed, and the general development model of the active continental margin basin was established. This model greatly improved people’s understanding of the Songliao Basin. The understanding of tectonic evolution is of universal significance for understanding the nature of basins located on the border of the Pacific Ocean.
